Moors look to bounce back with win at Woking

After defeat on Saturday to Macclesfield Town, Moors boss Liam McDonald will be hoping his side can respond quickly as they travel to Anthony Limbrick's Woking.

Saturday's performance once again showed promise, but the Moors' failure to start the game strongly has now become a worryingly regular feature. While our start didn't cost us anything in terms of the scoreline, it still felt as if we were playing catch up in the second-half, which ultimately allowed the Silkmen to counter and get their winning goal.

McDonald will be hoping his team can come out of the blocks quickly against a Woking side that have had a mixed bag of results so far. Four wins and five losses, the Cardinals will also be hoping to bounce back from defeat, after losing 3-1 to Maidstone United on Saturday.

Woking boast a couple of former Moors loanees in their ranks. Nathan Baxter and Regan Charles-Cook both had successful spells on loan at Solihull last season and will be hoping they can have the same kind of impact in their temporary spells at the Laithwaite Community Stadium. Let's hope they struggle to make an impact in tonight's fixture.

Vital Quotes:

Solihull Moors manager Liam McDonald on his side's 'slow start' to games:

'Why do we start the second-half really well? We're renowned now for having good second-halves. Why do we come out (in the first-half) tentative and slow to things?

'We need to be better in the first-half, even on Tuesday night we weren't great in the first 15/20 minutes.

'We were edgy, we were mistiming our headers and misplacing our passes. We'll get better and I know I sound like a broken record, but we've even had George Carline missing today. We found out this morning that he was doubtful.

'We'll be better and we just look forward to Tuesday now to get out there and put it right.'

Woking Team News:

Woking boss Anthony Limbrick has no fresh injury worries after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Maidstone United, but Richard Orlu, Joey Jones and Fabio Saraiva will all miss out once again through injury.

Player to watch: Joe Ward

The 22-year-old forward joined Woking in the summer after being released by Brighton and Hove Albion. He's made a promising start to life at the Cardinals with four goals in his first nine games. Ward will be hoping to build on recent good form, as three of those goals have come in his last three appearances.

Solihull Moors Team News:

Simeon Maye might be included in the Moors' sixteen for the first time in tonight's fixture, after missing the entirety of the season so far. George Carline is a doubt after missing the weekend's defeat against Macclesfield Town.

Player to watch: Ben Fox

A promising start to life at the Moors for the youngster on loan from Burton Albion. A solid debut performance against Macclesfield Town showed glimpses of why he's so highly-rated at the Brewers.
